Roxeth Show - A Brief History
Roxeth Show was originally known as Harrow Show's Little Brother, but with the disappearance of this annual event, the
last one being held in August 2004, Roxeth Show has now become the largest Community Event in the borough
with free admission to the public.

The first show was held in 1979 and was organised by the South Harrow and Roxeth Residents Association (SHARRA) who
were then known as the Ratepayers Association to celebrate 50 years of their existence.

After 20 years of successfully running the show, they decided that due to falling numbers of volunteers that the only way the
Show could survive would be if they handed over to a local voluntary community group, the Harrow and Pinner Lions,
who had partaken and supported the show for a number of years. SHARRA still attend the show and provide
the information and support that local residents have come to rely upon them for.

1999 the year that the Harrow and Pinner Lions took over the organising and running of the Show, coincided with the 100th Anniversary of Roxeth Recreation Ground.

The Show has gradually improved each year since the Lions took charge and the improvements that have been made include:
  •  the re-introduction of the local primary School's Carnival, who returned to the Show after several years absence in 2004
  • In 2004 a free shuttle bus service from Bovis House, to keep congestion down in the area
  • the Fun Dog Show was introduced in 2008, which has seen the numbers of entries grow each year, all proceeds going to Charity
  • Official Sponsorship of the Show by the Harrow Times since 2010, which has given the Event a much needed publicity boost and also provided support for the organisations taking part
  • a re-design of the Show layout in 2011 to accommodate more entertainment and also make it the area more enclosed and safer for children also proved a big success with the regular attendee's and stall holders, who all commented favourably on the improvements
